83% of our schools are now providing pupils with 2 hours of PE and School Sport, compared with 72% in 2005/2006. We are well on track to meet the 2008 national target of 85%
The schools across the Dover District SSP are doing an average of 117 minutes of PE per week, compared to 110 minutes in 2005/2006.
The average number of different activities offered (from the list of sports) has increased from 15 to 17, just above the National average.
Intra school competition stands at 44%, and Inter school competition at 37%, which is well above the national average
The average number of links a school has with a community club has risen from 1.72 to 3.15 and the number of pupils attending those clubs on average per school has risen from 8 to 17. We expect to see an increase in these figures due to the implementation of a club link policy this year, and we are working hard to make this a focus.
Pupils involved in volunteering and leadership has increased from 4% to 7%. We are hoping for an increase in this due to more pupils helping out in tournaments and festivals, and pupils becoming involved in the community volunteering project.
